Ready for Longhorn Football

Well the 1st game of the season was finally here and Emmie was ready to cheer. Too bad Comcast sucks so we weren't actually able to watch the game. Emmie did enjoy hanging out for her first official neighborhood cook out.

Group Bath

You know those embarrassing pictures you see in your baby books of you bathing with some kid - well here's the first of what I'm sure will be many more to come. Emmie and Jens seem to really get along for the time being and it was a strange moment when Cari and I looked at each other and it was like she read my mind when she said "did you ever think we'd be bathing out kids together". It seems like a life time ago when I first met Cari in middle school and babies where the last thing on our minds. It's amazing we've remained such good friends and it's great to be able to share these special moments with such wonderful friends.

We managed to get almost all the kids into a group picture. I made the mistake of putting Emmie next to poor Avery.

Until Emmie pulls Avery's hair (you can actually see Emmie pulling Avery's hair)

And here are the understandable tears as she yells "Mommy save me"

Overall not too bad but I think Avery will be plotting on how to get Emmie back next year and I can't say I blame her. But to Avery's credit she did not try to hurt Emmie which just goes to show what a sweet girl she is.

The missing kid is Jensen as he finally decided to take a nap.

So Dirty

Emmie spent over an hour just crawling and rolling around the deck at the lake. She had such a great time and was so dirty by the time she was done that I actually ended up throwing away her shirt as it would never be white again (or even close to it), but it was well worth it to watch her have so much fun. Here's a shot of her sitting up to smile at me.

Enjoying the Lake

Emmie thought the lake was great. She loved being outside and just seemed very happy to be at the lake.

Ginette

On Thursday morning Mommy got her haircut by Ginette so Emmie had a little chat with her. Ginette promised that when Emmie has hair she will give Emmie, her first haircut for free. We are looking forward to Emmie growing some hair so we can take her up on her offer.
